With Orbeon Forms, you build user-friendly, interactive, and good-looking forms out of the box. All the
details such as as-you-type validation, error summary and form submission are handled for you. There is no
more struggling with programming languages or browser incompatibilities.
On the client, Orbeon Forms only requires a standard web browser (including Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Safari and Opera) thanks to XForms and Ajax technology. There is no need for additional client-side software
or plugins.
On the server, Orbeon Forms runs on any operating system by deploying to a standard Java Servlet container
such as Tomcat.
Some Benefits of Orbeon Forms
A Truly Open Source Solution
Orbeon Forms is open source without compromise by using the business-friendly LGPL license. This allows you
to use Orbeon Forms free of charge for your open source or commercial projects.
Open Standards
Orbeon not only follows standards but leads them as an active member of the W3C Forms Working Group in
charge of the XForms recommendation. Orbeon also participates in the XML Processing Working Group.
W3C XForms
At the core of Orbeon Forms lies an Ajax-based XForms engine, the product of years of development. XForms is the only open standard specifically designed to handle
your complex forms, thanks to its wealth of form-centric features and its declarative architecture.
