Frequently Asked Questions
We can’t do an online purchase by credit card; can we send you a PO?
Yes, certainly. If it is more convenient for you to use a purchase order, feel free to send us your PO at firstname.lastname@example.org. And if you need a quote first, send us an email with the number and type of subscriptions you’re interested in, and we’ll create a quote for you.
What can we use the hours included in the Dev Support for?
- Technical assistance — For any question related to Orbeon Forms that you might have during development or even after your application has been deployed, for instance for troubleshooting issues in your forms, tune the performance of your application, or get architectural advice.
- Sponsored features — If you would benefit from a new feature being added to Orbeon Forms, and the feature does make sense for Orbeon Forms, you can use hours from your Dev Support to "sponsor" the implementation of that feature. We will implement the features you need on a fixed budget. Sponsored features are folded in to the Orbeon Forms code base and licensed under the LGPL open source license.
- Online training and Q&A sessions — We can do a training customized to your needs, through WebEx. In general trainings are done in 2-hour sessions, with typically 1 to 3 sessions. Those sessions can also be used to answer questions the team might have, or discuss the architecture of your application.
Do you provide any on-site services?
Unless you are based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the answer is no. However, we can put you in touch with a trusted partner that can help you. So feel free to get in touch with us if you need on-site services or training.
What does the "per year" mean?
The Dev Support packages are yearly subscriptions. At the end of the year, you can decide whether to renew the subscription. If you decide not to renew it, any remaining hours are "lost"; outstanding hours can't be used after the subscription ended. If you decide to renew your Dev Support, remaining hours are added to the hours you get with the new subscription.
